Here are some misconceptions about the SAT exam
1. Can I guess the experimental section in SAT?
There is no way to determine the experimental section in SAT. It could be reading, maths or writing. So, you should attempt all sections as if they are the real ones.
2. The length of the essay is very important.
Some students feel that more the length of essay, higher the score. You should focus on incorporating more relevant details and examples rather including irrelevant details. An essay should demonstrate outstanding critical thinking, using clearly appropriate examples, reasons, and other evidence to support the position. A long but disorganized or unfocused essay will result in lowering your score.
3. It is always better not to guess
If you can rule out one or more answer choices for multiple-choice questions, you have a better chance of guessing the right answer. If you can not guess the answer at all, skip the question. No points are deducted if an answer is left blank.
