Online CAT 2009 WOW: A new feature to learn Vocabulary

Ask The Experts

Learnhub Team always works for the success of its users and here is the proof. As you are aware we have come up with Punch of the Week feature recently and we are quite happy to announce that most of our users are finding it really helpful. With the encouragement that you have given us we are happy to announce another interactive feature called WOW:Words Of the Week
What is WOW?

Words Of the Week:WOW is a feature that will help you to learn and remember the vocabulary in a very simple and effective manner. You will definitely Say Good Bye to mugging up the words once you start using this feature.

How will this feature help me to improve my Vocabulary?

In this feature we present you a video in which 5-6 words are discussed per week. Along with the meaning of the word, we present you each word with a cartoon (image) & a caption below it. This will help you to remember that word forever. Also we provide the origin of the word along with its synonyms. At the end of every month you can test your vocabulary by taking the tests especially designed for this feature.

So let's get into WOW
Words in this Video

Affable

Amenable

Amicable

Assiduous

Benevolent
Vocab-1
Folks, here comes the second video. In this video I made some changes to make the learning more effective. In addition to the previous features, in this video you will find the following features
  • You can choose the word that you want to learn
  • Usage of each word is featured

Also, as many users have requested to make this feature more frequent, I am considering the same and trying to speed up the things. But as such no promises at this stage

Folks, just stay tuned…Definitely this feature will ease the process of learning vocabulary. I assure you that this feature will be updated regularly but only on a weekly basis. So let me tell you that this is a long term plan from Learnhub’s team. In fact to speed it up I can give you 10 words per week from the next update.

    All the best…

Great work Suresh. Perhaps, I felt 5 words a week will be too slow, keeping in mind the minimum words to be learnt. Cant it be something like 3 words a day or 6 words once in 2 days. It would pace up the process. Please let me know what do you think. Anyways, it is superb effort. thanks a ton :)

This is such an awesome site, I’ve ever come across ;) Kudos to all those brains that went in to creating this interactive forum. Also, the word tips given for each word is so useful that it helps any reader to familiarize oneself with the roots of new words, and nail them down in their minds forever.

My two pence: Even I used to learn and memorize new words using mnemonics. For instance, remember DAIS, and you’ve four words which mean the same – ‘D’iligent,’A’ssiduous, ‘I’ndustrious, and ‘S’edulous, and guess what??? Only such people deserve to be on the DAIS ;) Sounds interesting..?!
