I am veryyy nervous about this whole PSAT exam. its in october and i dont know a thing. :S. I am very scared. What is the syllabus anyways?. And is it very necessary to know our vocabulary really well.? I have hundreds of questions poppin gup.Someone please help. Is there a good book to prepare from?..:S
Excellent advice Astha, vocabulary practice just takes time, not to worry. Aarushibahl, do you have specific questions about vocabulary? Or sentence correction format or anything? We can help direct you to some suitable lessons and tests to help you prepare.
hi guys I am having my SAT on the 4th of October and I feel very very nervous about it. I keep thinking I won`t be calm and won`t do as well as I do on practice tests. I also think the real test will be much harder than the practice tests so the scores I have received on practice tests will not be accurate. I am practicing and improving my vocabulary every day but my scores on the reading secton are still lower than I want them to be. I t is not fair that colleges don`t use the writing sections, I have my best results there. Why put it if no one is going to use it. Anyway what do you think I should do? Any advises?
About the writing section issue- some colleges do use it, but a lot of them don’t, because it’s fairly new and hasn’t been proved to actually determine success fairly like the other sections. However, I think that a good score in the writing section can still help overcome a slightly weaker score in the reading section, and a goof TOEFL score can help even more, since they all show the same thing really- the level of your English skills.
I think that for now, you should concentrate on practicing on the reading section (but the other sections too of course), once you get the tricks on how to approach them and have enough practice it becomes easier. Writing important tests like the SAT can be very stressful, but you should try to relax as much as possible and take it easy. The more you practice, the more you’ll be able to tell yourself you’ve done all you could and the rest is up to luck.

I definitely agree. The more practice that’s received, the easier it is to feel more confident in our intelligences and that can be vouched for in many aspects of life.
