The procedure is- go to their website, look up the requirements for admissions, and apply. MIT is one of the top schools in the US, especially for engineering and technology, so you’ll need top SAT scores, TOEFL scores, and scores in the 12th standard exams. In addition, MIT is an expensive school, so unless you’re an absolute top student who can get a scholarship (and that’s really hard), you’ll need money.

American schools are looking for full pay students, so the chances of your getting a scholarship are very slim, especially with the grammar that I see in your question. oLahav is correct, its website (not their) website is the best place to find the obvious info. But there is a lot of info that you won’t find there that college admissions counselors have.

Yes, many schools tag themselves as “need-blind” and the top, rich schools actually mean it. However, it’s important to understand that need-blind doesn’t mean that if you’re not rich, they’ll let you study for free. It does mean that they can help arrange loans that you’ll pay back after you graduate (plus interest), in most cases. With MIT just getting into the school is exceptionally competitive. Also, keep in mind that the need-blind policy doesn’t always apply to international students (because most national aid programs are targeted towards American students).

well my cbse class 10 score is 94%(99 in maths and 95 in science). my school record is quite decent as well. as for letters of recommendations, i am quite sure i’ll get good ones from my teachers especially my maths and computer science teachers.
my aim is to study computer science. my scores in computer in school is 97%.
As for tests, i’m taking the SAT this 2nd may. In practice tests at home, my scores ranged from 1950 to 2270.
Do you think this is enough? What else do i need to concentrate on?
P.S: As for extracurricular activities, i play the guitar, am the house captain of my school house, am an avid quizzer and reader.

Your profile seems to be good. All you have to do is to try and get a good score in SAT (2300+). As mentioned earlier, you should also look out for your financial set up as well.

djm, I am a very outspoken and candid person and i say what comes out of my mouth. I dont sugercoat stuff..so listen to my criticism and dont cry bout it..k pumpkin. So MIT is really fuckin hard to get into even with ur scores. I know ur aspirations are high but man u need to get into reality. First of all Student visas are extremely hard to get since u dont live here. Second, even if u get into MIT, you are going to need atleast 60 grand per year, which would calculate to atleast $250,000 for your 4 years. And i am guessing u want masters. Therefore u need to go to graduate college which costs more that normal college, which means 300,000 dollars. About 550,000 is what u need. Even if u get financial aid, which i doubt since u dont have any extracurricular activities compared to kids over here. Also u can impress MIT with ur interview but i am guessing u have a thick indian accent which is a downer and they wont understand half the things u say. Sorry but i had to say it. Remember..candid. So anyways..l would go to a college where they would offer me a full ride. So u dont have to spend anything for normal college and u can save up for graduate. think about it and respond to me.

Hi
The universities look at the high school GPA, not just the 12th grade score while considering application to undergraduate studies.

djm I suggest that you focus on your original goal. What is the reason that is motivating you in applying to MIT? This reason- whatever it is.. just describe it to the admissions office through your essays. They often wanna see how different you are from the general int’l application pool. This is because.. when it gets to top class education (Top of the world’s academia) there really isn’t a difference between 2100 and 2300 on the SAT. Anyways.. I am pretty sure that you are willing to apply to MIT simply because there is a part of you that is up for the challenge.. and is ready for the challenge. Therefore I deeply suggest that you find your true inner self- the one that is up for the challenge.. and harness the passion from the MIT side of you.
Sorry for this lengthy advice/restatement of what you probably already know.. What I am basically implying is that.. don’t be afraid of displaying your true character. YOU ARE SPECIAL AND WORTHY OF GETTING IN!
P.S some of the buttons on my keyboard aren’t functioning.. that’s why my punctuation is flawed
