Here is a bit of a fun assignment that could help you retain all those vocab words you’re learning. Share at least 5 vocabulary words that you’ve learned while studying for the SAT. It’s a fantastic way to share and learn uncommon words that you might find on the SAT test.

I’ll start:

1. Ebullience n. the quality of lively expression of thoughts and feelings.

2. Declivity n. downward slope.

3. Sinewy adj. strong, marked by strength. The fighter had a strong, sinewy body.

4. Susurrate v. to whisper/murmur.

5. Officious adj. volunteering one’s services when they are neither asked nor needed. He is so officious that he tries to tell everyone what to do.

    Hi, nice idea! so… there you go!

    1. Vagaries – an unpredictable or erratic action, occurrence, course, or instance: the vagaries of weather; the vagaries of the economic scene

    2. Levity- lightness of mind, character, or behavior; lack of appropriate seriousness or earnestness

    3. Dilettante – a person who takes up an art, activity, or subject merely for amusement, esp. in a desultory or superficial way; dabbler.

    4. Nemesis – something that a person cannot conquer, achieve : The performance test proved to be my nemesis.

    5. Cadence- Rhythmic flow of words : The cadence of her voice was soothing to the ears.

    6. Verdant – 1) Green with vegetation 2) Inexperienced, unsophisticated

    Sure thing:

    1. espionage: A spy or secret agent

    2. laggard : slow, falling behind, slumping (I think of Hagrid from Harry Potter to remember this term!)

    3. linger: hanging around, floating

    4. knead: work in, work with (kneading bread)

    5. jovial: jolly, cheery, merry

    6. flippant: joking, not serious, fooling around
