Let’s start a conversation going about your math SATs- has anyone here ever written the SAT? How was it? Should people write it even if they don’t live in the US? Why or why not? If you have anything else to talk about, go for it.
I think that people who don’t live in the US should write the SAT. Even if they don’t end up going, it opens up doors of possibilities when it comes to applying to schools.
I live in Canada, and I look back now and I probably should have wrote it. I didn’t think about the possibilities in the States or other countries too much. But really, why not? Being over prepared with tests you’ve accomplished can never be a bad thing for your applications.
Harvard admission requirements include the SAT I, and a good score will certainly help you apply. However, they also require 3 SAT subject tests (depending on your program), so you will need to take those prior to applying to Harvard. Other requirements include good high school performance (both in academics and extracurriculars), teacher references, and possibly an interview.
